Instructions For Configuring Zoho Mail Account As IMAP In Outlook

Zoho email is an email service offered by the Zoho Corporation and it is possible to set up Zoho email account as IMAP in the Microsoft Outlook application. Given below are some easy instructions to do so.

  • Enable IMAP access to your Zoho account by logging in to your Zoho mail account.
  • Then, navigate to the system desktop and open the Outlook application in your system by double clicking the shortcut icon for Outlook.
  • Go to the menu called Tools, then to Account Settings, then to the option called Email Accounts and finally to the tab called Email. 
  • Set up a new account in Outlook by clicking the option labeled New.
  • Click the option called Manually Configure Server settings or Additional Server Types from the Add New Account settings page, followed by clicking the button called Next.
  • Select internet mails from the Choose Email Service page and click the button called Next.
  • Next, type the following details in the Add New Email Account page. 
  • User information: 
Your Name:  enter the preferred display name
Email address: you need to type email address for Zoho account.
  1.  Server information
Account type: create an IMAP account by selecting IMAP
Incoming mail server: imap.zoho.com
Outgoing mail server: smtp.zoho.com
  1. Logon Information
User name: you need to provide the email address for your Zoho account excluding @zoho.com
Password: password used to log in to Zoho account
Do not forget to check mark the box that says Remember password
  1. Next, you need to click the option called More Settings.
  2. Click the option called Outgoing Server from the pop up window that appears. Do not forget to click the box saying My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Also, click the option labeled Use same settings as my incoming server.
  3. From there, click the tab called Advanced and enter the following details 
  • Port number for Incoming mail server: 993 
  • Also, select This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)
  • Port number for Outgoing mail server (SMTP): 465
  • From the drop down menu for encrypted connection, select the option called SSL.
  • If you need delivery section in Zoho mail too, you need to click the option called Leave a copy of messages on the server.
  • You will be returned to the Add New Email Account dialog window once you click the button called OK.
  1. Next, you need to click the option called Test Account settings.
  2. If all the settings are correct, close it.
  3. Click Next in the Add Email Accounts window.
  4. After the completion of wizard, Outlook will display a message.
